The Republican Party Vs The Constitution Party

ABORTION

Republicans claim to be pro-life but from 2000-06 when they had control of the House and Presidency they did nothing to overturn Roe vs. Wade when they could have done so easily. Also the Republican Party actively campaigned for John McCain in the last presidential race, who is not pro-life. Some of our pro-abortion supreme court justices were appointed by Republicans. What have Republicans actively done to defund Planned Parenthood?

The pre-born child, whose life begins at fertilization, is a human being created in God's image. The first duty of the law is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. It is, therefore, the duty of all civil governments to secure and to safeguard the lives of the pre-born. We affirm both the authority and duty of Congress to limit the appellate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court in all cases of abortion in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, Article III, Section 2.

NATIONAL CONVENTION

National Delegates are often chosen at State Conventions who are on the predetermined slate in their specific caucus. If one is fortunate enough to be on the slate and is voted to attend the national convention, they must then plan to attend the week long national convention which costs thousands of dollars. What average citizen can afford such a cost? This appears to keep everyday citizens out and the elite in.

National delegates are chosen through fair elections in their state conventions. Bad economic conditions encourage us to keep costs low for our national conventions. Cost to attend the 2010 National Convention was under $200 per person excluding travel expenses and hotel. The convention is a two day event to also keep costs affordable.

CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT & REFORM

The GOP leadership has no intention of restoring Constitutional Govt. When have they put into office a Constitutional President? The Republicans who sincerely desire reform are not placed in leadership positions. Example is to look at what the Republican Party did to Ron Paul 2 years ago. By changing state party rules in over 14 states, they made it impossible for Ron Paul to get delegates to their National Convention. They lied, were rude, shut down conventions and did everything possible to not play fair.

Another example is to look at how the GOP pulled Dan Coats out of retirement to run for U.S. Senate because they never trusted the TEA party candidates that were running in the primaries, thus leaving many Republicans to feel they only had the choice of voting for the lesser of two evils in the fall elections. Is the Republican Party actually listening to the wishes of the people or are they more concerned about control?

Constitutional Government is our top priority, thus the reason for our political party’s name! We look for both party leadership and candidates who display exemplary qualities of honesty, integrity, reliability, moral uprightness, fidelity, prudence, temperance, justice, fortitude, self-restraint, courage, kindness, and compassion.

We hear the voices of Americans who desire to turn this country back to it’s Constitutional roots. We look for candidates who understand the root issues of our nation and how to address those issues using the Constitution.

The Constitution Party is based on the principals of the sovereignty of God and the Bible. We know that we must answer to someone higher than ourselves and thus our conduct is of higher ethical standards. This is not to say there is no corruption in our Party, but it is severely limited.

FOREIGN POLICY

Republicans claim to stand for fiscal conservatism yet spend trillions on unconstitutional foreign wars and policing the world. There are currently 730 U.S. military bases worldwide. Republicans support being involved in 80 allied nations and international institutions, to isolate and confront terrorists and outlaw regimes all at taxpayers expense. They believe we should accomplish this by working with the UN, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and other international organizations.

The Constitution Party believes that we should strive to live in peace with all nations, without interfering in their internal affairs. We oppose American participation in any form of world government organization, including any world court under United Nations auspices and we call upon the President, and Congress, to terminate United States membership in the United Nations, and its subsidiary organizations, and terminate U.S. participation in all so-called U.N. peace keeping operations. NATO, serves no defensive purpose for these United States, and this country should withdraw from it

There is no constitutional basis for foreign aid. These expenditures have won us no friends, and constitute a major drain on the resources of our taxpayers. Therefore we demand that U.S. participation in international lending institutions, such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund be ended.

GOVERNMENT SPENDING

Republicans often tout the rhetoric of limited govt. but we often times see when they get in office they do very little to nothing to stop the spending. Republicans had control in the House and the Presidency from 2000-06 and spending actually increased more than it did under Clinton. Millions of dollars are spent on unconstitutional foreign wars all at the approval of most Republicans.

Only those duties, functions, and programs specifically assigned to the federal government by the Constitution should be funded. We call upon Congress and the President to stop all federal expenditures which are not specifically authorized by the U. S. Constitution, and to restore to the states those powers, programs, and sources of revenue that the federal government has usurped.

Both Democrats AND Republicans are spending us into oblivion! It’s time to stop the insanity, learn from history and vote in Constitution Party Candidates who will stop the spending by upholding the Constitution!
